Ripley is a small and beautiful village about three miles from Harrogate which has been in the ownership of the Ingilby family for centuries.

In his recent book Dr Richard Muir describes the Hotel de Ville - "a sort of village town hall, eccentrically continental - the style is Gothic revival and within the energetically soaring lines of the exterior was a worthy interior which contained a lecture hall, baronial in style."

Built in 1854 it has taken a while for the Town Hall to boogie but in 1999 it discovered the blues!
